Mortgage blogs are a great way to express yourself to potential clients and the media.  What better way is there to express your knowledge, opinions and personality than through mortgage blogging?  As a mortgage blogger, you have an advantage over the media.  Think about it, you can say anything you want and not worry about the publisher editing your story.  Blogging also allows you to announce timely information in a matter of minutes as opposed to sending to a newspaper and hoping it gets run.

Your mortgage blog becomes your press release, your voice of knowledge, expertise and personality to your audience. How can you inject your voice into your blog?

  • Timely mortgage industry news – (i.e. tax credit, underwriting guideline changes, rate movements, real estate news and community news are examples of the topics for timely information)
  • Stories – personal case studies of how you’ve helped someone.  Challenging loan files and how you were able to get the loan approved.  How you were able to get someone into their first home when others couldn’t.  The list can be endless.
  • Mortgage tips – Home buying tips, refinance information, “How to” tidbits are great posts to write.
  • Humor – Humor is a great form of connecting with someone.  People love to laugh and if you can get them to, then you’ve just broken down any barrier that was there.
  • Opinions – Expressing yourself through your thoughts and opinions through your mortgage blog are a great way for your personality to come through. People  like to know what others opinions are.
